On January 6th, teachers will be attending a workshop on developmental behaviors for children, as well as, how stress effects students, parents and families. We will be working on helping children to self regulate and to learn how to deal with some of life's stresses.
We will be working with counselors from Southwest Family Guidance Center. On January 8th, students in 5th and 6th grade, and in 7th and 8th will have an assembly to discuss with students how to cope with the pressures of social media, peer pressure and age appropriate issues that are effecting our youth.
This will be followed by a parent meeting in the evening, at 5:30 in the library, to discuss ways that parents can help their children overcome or cope with the stress in today's world. It will be a very informative evening and give parents strategies to help themselves and their children.
More information will be sent home via School Reach, email and text.
