The sustainability is viewed in two different ways at St. Therese. First, we are a green school, striving to use our resources wisely and efficiently. The school actively recycles and teaches students how to “up-cycle” used items for alternative use. We have solar on our elementary school. We have also installed a well to help with our grassy area and our green house. Our active Garden Club teaches students about the life cycle of seeds, plants, pollinators and our responsibility to provide environmentally practices throughout the school. Our greenhouse grows produce throughout the year. Students are also using hydroponics to grow year round lettuce, basil and other vegetation.
Second, the economic sustainability of the school is in excellent shape. We have been blessed with a generous community and resourceful administration that keeps us financially stable. Our projects are funded and our teachers and staff are highly qualified. We fundraise or accept donations to the school for any projects.
